Summa Barberton Hospital Sleep Medicine Center

The Summa Barberton Hospital Sleep Medicine Center is a four bed overnight sleep center and laboratory.

A sleep study includes single or multiple diagnostic tests performed by a qualified technician to help diagnose a number of sleep disorders. The tests are non-invasive and do not use needles, injectable dyes, IVs or shots.

Common sleep disorders include obstructive sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and narcolepsy with some cases of sleep terrors and nightmares.

All sleep studies are monitored in a control room staffed by a technician throughout the night. Sleep physicians, board-certified or board-qualified in internal medicine and sleep medicine, interpret the results and recommend the proper course of treatment.

Either a sleep physician or a primary care physician can refer you for a sleep study. Most sleep studies are covered by insurance. For more information on the different types of sleep disorders or to schedule an appointment to see the lab, call (330) 615-4006. To make an appointment for a sleep study, call (330) 615-3200.
