The Sleep Disorders Center at BH is a 4-bed overnight sleep center and laboratory and typically sees patients with obstructive sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome and narcolepsy with some cases of sleep terrors and nightmares. All sleep studies are monitored in a control room staffed by a technician throughout the night. A physician's referral is required for an appointment. Most sleep studies are covered by insurance. For more information on the different types of sleep disorders or to schedule an appointment to see the lab, call (330) 615-4006 Electroneurodiagnostics Electroneurodiagnostics is the study and recording of electrical activity in the brain and nervous system. Some of the more common tests performed in our center include Electroencephalogram (EEG), which records the electrical activity of the brain; Evoked Potential (EP), which records electrical activity from the brain, spinal nerves or sensory receptors in response to specific external stimulation; Electromyography (EMG) which measures the electrical activity of certain skeletal muscle groups and Nerve Conduction Studies (NCT) which detects peripheral nerve disorders. |
